Second National Institute on Cybersecurity Law

The ABA Second Annual Institute on Cybersecurity will bring together leaders in the private and public sectors to discuss cybersecurity risks, trends in the law​ relating to data security, and risk minimization techniques.

Noted practitioners will cover:

  • A rapid-fire, real-world series of incident response scenarios​
  • Ethics: how to engage in the cyber-secure practice of law with the application of attorney-client privilege and work product to documents generated before/after a data breach
  • Biometric privacy act and litigation arising from the collection, use, and sharing of biometric information
  • Cyber insurance
  • Regulatory issues featuring federal and state officials

Fenwick's Hanley Chew will be speaking on the 9 am panel, "In the Hot Seat: Rapid-Fire Response to Data Incident Scenarios," which will address a series of real-world incident response scenarios and issues that arise when responding to data incidents.

Fenwick privacy and cybersecurity co-chair Tyler Newby will moderate a panel on biometric information privacy and Fenwick litigator Hanley Chew will speak on a panel titled “In the Hot Seat: Rapid-Fire Response to Data Incident Scenarios.”​​
