Fenwick & West is featured an article in The Recorder titled “Fenwick Posts 13 Percent Revenue Gain in Facebook-Fueled Year.”
The article reports that the firm's gross revenue rose 13 percent in 2012 and profits per partner grew six percent.
Managing partner Kate Fritz says Fenwick used the growth to boost headcount 12 percent, bringing on a particularly large group of associates.
"When we have a good year, we also make sure that we do the right kinds of things to invest in the institution and make it stronger."
Fenwick also boosted its support staff in 2012 and invested in internal systems to help predict project costs for clients.
"Making sure that we deliver services to clients in a way that is efficient and responsive to their needs is key for law firms to continue to be successful," Kate said.
Transactional business was the biggest contributor to the firm's growth, but the firm also stayed busy on the M&A front.
Kate says she senses that it will be another busy year for the firm, as core clients in the life sciences and technology sectors have been very active so far.
"I'm very optimistic about 2013.”
