Profile

Mr. Gillespie provides strategic and legal advice to software, new media and technology companies. He helps his clients build their value while maximizing options for liquidity through careful management of the legal and intellectual property aspects of their technology development and distribution. He helps structure, draft and negotiate key deals, including national and international development and distribution deals, licenses, and strategic alliances. He also manages the intellectual property aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including as lead outside IP counsel on acquisitions for Cisco, Symantec, Electronic Arts and other acquirers. In addition, he has significant experience in open source business models and export control regulations.

		Electronic Arts Inc.: acquisitions of Jamdat, Hammer Korea, and Rupture; International license and distribution agreements with The9 (China) and Neowiz (Korea)
		Cryptic Studios: sale of remaining ownership interest in City of Hero's/City of Villains franchise
		Stormfront Studios: development and distribution agreements with Vivendi Universal
