Virtual SAC: The Courts, the Press, and Democracy

Hosted By: ABA

An independent judiciary and independent journalists are symbiotic components of a functioning democracy. Each relies on the vitality of the other. How are the third and fourth estate doing in today's polarized 24-hour news cycle? At this virtual event, a panel of journalists from major news organizations will explore the challenges currently facing the courts and the press in protecting democracy and the rule of law, including what lawyers can do to support them both.

Fenwick’s Laurence Pulgram will moderate the panel which features leading journalists from The New York Times (Adam Liptak), Washington Post (Erik Wemple), and NPR (Carrie Johnson).

This panel will take place during the ABA Section of Litigation's 2020 Virtual Section Annual Conference, the premier event for litigators that brings together top litigation professionals to discuss timely legal issues and the latest in trial advocacy, litigation strategy, and case management.
