Mountain View, CA (February 19, 2016) – Fenwick & West announced today that it has named Kevin Moore as its first Chief Security Officer (CSO). Moore will oversee Fenwick’s information security, privacy, compliance and eDiscovery responses, as the firm continues its commitment to industry-leading data security.
“Data security is a chief concern for us and our clients, and we’re excited to have Kevin, who is already a recognized leader in law firm data security, dedicate his efforts to continually improving our security operations,” said Matt Kesner, Fenwick’s Chief Information Officer. “Kevin will help us be in even better compliance with our clients’ governance needs, and he’ll also look at meaningful ways to reduce our risk profile.”
With seventeen years at Fenwick, Moore is the firm’s most experienced and senior engineer, and has served as director of information technology for the past nine years. He led the research, design, implementation and operational support for all of Fenwick’s enterprise-wide services, which include information security, network infrastructure, and data center management of 4 petabytes of information on 600+ servers.
Moore added, “As Fenwick pursues innovative ways to provide our clients with first-class service, our use of technology and amount of data managed has expanded significantly. Ensuring maximum security of that technology and data is a core part of our strategic plan. I’m looking forward to continue leading such innovation at Fenwick.”
With more than 25 years of experience, prior to joining Fenwick, Moore was a Senior IT Systems Engineer and Network Design Specialist at Novell, where he led all in-house testing and deployment of products and oversaw support for their San Jose data centers. Moore is a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and Infraguard, a public/private partnership between private security professionals and the FBI.
