Mountain View, CA (October 31, 2013) – Fenwick & West is pleased to announce that the firm was recognized for its work on two deals of the year at Global M&A Network’s annual Americas M&A Atlas Awards Gala in New York. Mergers & Acquisitions Group co-chair Dave Healy was named among the Top 50: Americas M&A Star Dealmakers.
Every year, Global M&A Network selects honorees based on demonstrated creativity, resiliency and professional skill, and this year Fenwick was honored for its work on the Cross-Border Acquisition of the Year (Middle Markets) and the Entertainment Deal of the Year.
Led by Cogen and partner Andrew Luh, Fenwick’s representation of Cisco Systems in its acquisition of Israel-based Intucell was named the Middle Markets Cross Border Deal of the Year. Cisco Systems acquired Intucell, a venture-backed wireless technology company, for $475 million. The acquisition was covered extensively by the media, including in Wall Street Journal blog AllThingsD, Forbes, TechCrunch and Business Insider.
Fenwick was also recognized for the firm's work on behalf of longtime-client Adap.tv in its $405 million acquisition by AOL. Led by partner Ted Wang, Fenwick took the venture-backed company from a Series C financing round in 2011 and an extension to the round of funding in January 2013 through its exit in the August acquisition by AOL , co-led also by Luh. According to Forbes, “In terms of eye-popping exit values, San Mateo-based Adap.tv appears to have scored the biggest victory for the Valley over the Alley in the ad tech scene.” The acquisition, which was larger than the $315 million AOL paid for the Huffington Post and the largest since it spun out from Time Warner in 2009, was also covered by The Wall Street Journal, AllThingsD, The New York Times, and VentureBeat.
In recent years, Fenwick has completed more than $300 billion worth of M&A transactions, including significant acquisition programs for leading serial acquirers.
