October 6, 2008 (Mountain View, CA) – Fenwick & West LLP announced today that International Tax Review, a leading publication covering the tax industry, named Fenwick & West as the "U.S. Tax Court Firm of the Year." This is the second time in three years Fenwick has been named by International Tax Review as the U.S. Firm of the Year for tax litigation and controversy matters.
The other final nominees were Latham & Watkins and Skadden, Arps.
The awards were given at a black tie dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City attended by 177 tax professionals.
During the period of March 2008 to September 2008, International Tax Review's researchers and journalists interviewed corporate tax directors and advisors to compile tiers of leading tax firms. For each country or regional award, the magazine's editorial staff compiles its list, in part, from more than 150 face-to-face and telephone interviews.
"We are extremely proud to be recognized once again for our tax litigation and controversy work," said David Forst, chair of the Fenwick & West Tax Group. "Our entire group of professionals provides exceptional, innovative tax services. It's rewarding to see that hard work honored by our clients and peers."
