Women Leaders in Tech Law: Jennifer Kelly, Fenwick & West

For the second consecutive year, Fenwick litigation partner and gaming and digital media practice chair Jennifer Kelly was named one of The Recorder’s Women Leaders in Tech Law.

The Recorder noted that Kelly—one of the foremost authorities on intellectual property issues pertinent to video games and mobile apps—obtained a settlement in which toy maker Hasbro agreed to take down its mobile game "My Little Pony: Puzzle Party," which she argued illegally "cloned" her client Peak Games' "Toy Blast" game.

Asked for one piece of advice she would give young lawyers in tech, she told The Recorder, “Don't wait for opportunities to present themselves. Get out there and grab them for yourself.”

Kelly focuses her practice on commercial and intellectual property litigation and counseling, with a particular emphasis on copyright, trademark, right of publicity, trade secret and false advertising disputes for technology companies, and particularly companies in the gaming industry.

Kelly is one of five Fenwick partners honored by The Recorder, the most honorees from any organization being recognized.

Kelly’s full profile is available through The Recorder website (subscription required).
