May 17, 2018

Fenwick & West represented Saildrone, Inc., a leading provider of high resolution ocean data collected via a fleet of unmanned surface vehicles, in its $60 million Series B financing. Horizons Ventures led the round with participation from existing investors, including Capricorn’s Technology Impact Fund, Lex Capital, Social Capital and The Schmidt Family Foundation.

Through successful partnerships with US agencies such as NOAA and NASA, and a recently announced multi-year collaboration with Australia-based CSIRO, Saildrone will be able to accelerate its manufacturing and deployment of autonomous vehicles needed to achieve global coverage of the world’s oceans.
