Long time Fenwick & West client Macromedia prevailed Friday, May 10, in a patent infringement suit against Adobe Systems Inc. The jury in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware took less than 3 hours to decide that Adobe had infringed a Macromedia patent related to graphics software and another two patents related to sound-mixing and editing. The jury also found willful infringement, which may allow Judge Joseph Farnan Jr. to triple damages to $14.7 million and award attorneys' fees.

The Fenwick & West team was led by partners Charlene Morrow and Darryl Woo, and associates Michael Sacksteder and Heather Mewes, with assistance from partner Virginia DeMarchi, and associates Jeffrey Brill, Khoi Nguyen, Jonathan Yang, Allen Kato, Kirsten Heaton and Henry Su.
