LendingTree v. Zillow, et al. (W.D.N.C. March 2014)

March 12, 2014

In a complaint originally filed in September 2010, LendingTree filed suit against Zillow, Nextag and Adchemy alleging infringement of LendingTree's patents, (U.S. Patent Nos. 6,385,594 and 6,611,816), pertaining to a method and computer network for coordinating a loan over the internet, and claiming roughly $100 million in damages.

After a five-week trial, where Fenwick represented defendants Zillow and Adchemy, the jury found that Zillow, NexTag and Adchemy had not infringed LendingTree’s patents and that the two patents were invalid for failing to identify the correct inventors.

The Fenwick litigation team was led by Dave Hadden, Saina Shamilov and Ryan Tyz.
