Atmel Corporation v. Information Storage Devices

Represented Information Storage Devices, accused of infringing three patents relating to nonvolatile memory technology, trade secret misappropriation, and breach of contract relating to semiconductor technology. The district court granted ISD summary judgment of non-infringement on two of the patents and of invalidity of the third. The case settled prior to trial following several pre-trial decisions in ISD's favor, including the disqualification of Atmel's trade secret expert. 1998 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 17564 (N.D. Cal. 1999), reversed and remanded, 198 F.3d 1374 (Fed. Cir. 1999).
