Fenwick Represents Symantec in Sale of Website Security Business to DigiCert

Fenwick & West represented Symantec Corporation (NASDAQ: SYMC) in the pending sale of Symantec’s Website Security business to DigiCert, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise identity and encryption solutions. Under the terms of the sale agreement, Symantec will receive approximately $950 million in upfront cash proceeds and approximately a 30 percent stake in the common stock equity of the DigiCert business when the transaction closes.

The transaction will allow Symantec to sharpen its enterprise focus on delivering security to the cloud generation through Symantec's Integrated Cyber Defense Platform. More information about Symantec’s sale transaction with DigiCert can be obtained from the company press release.
