Fenwick & West LLP represented its client Cisco Systems, Inc. in its proposed acquisition of the intellectual property and related assets of Procket Networks, Inc., a developer of concurrent services routers. The Procket acquisition, valued at approximately $89 million in cash, is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions, and is expected to close in the first quarter of Cisco's 2005 fiscal year, commencing August 2005. In the transaction, Cisco plans to hire a majority of Procket's world-class engineering team.
