Fenwick & West LLP represented Cisco Systems, Inc. in its recently announced acquisition of privately-held NetSift, Inc. of San Diego, California. NetSift develops content processing technology focused on high speed networking and security. Cisco will pay approximately $30 million in cash and options for NetSift. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions, and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Cisco's fiscal year 2005 ending July 30, 2005.
