Fenwick & West LLP represented Symantec Corporation (NASDAQ: SYMC) in its recently announced acquisition of Vontu, a provider of Data Loss Prevention solutions. The integration of Vontu’s products will complement Symantec's existing portfolio to provide customers with one of the most comprehensive platform for data loss prevention on the market today. Symantec will pay $350 million in cash and assumed options for Vontu. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, and expected to close in the fourth calendar quarter of 2007. Symantec, based in Cupertino, CA, is a provider of infrastructure software, with operations in more than 40 countries.
