Longhorn Partners Pipeline v. Navajo Refining Company

January 22, 1999

Represented Navajo Refining Co., a New Mexico based integrated oil and gas company, in an antitrust case brought by Longhorn Partners Pipeline, L.P., a partnership of large oil and gas companies formed to operate a refined product pipeline, challenging support provided by Navajo to lobbying and public relations activities by third parties opposed to the pipeline for environment reasons. The case presented unusual issues under the Noerr Pennington doctrine. After extensive discovery and briefing of the legal issues, obtained settlement on terms favorable to Navajo Refining.
