This final installment of ACAMS’ Strategic Trade and Export Control series will examine recent enforcement actions aimed at combating the circumvention of strategic trade and export control restrictions. An area of heightened regulatory focus in the wake of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. Since the launch of the multi‑agency Disruptive Technology Strike Force in 2022, U.S. authorities have prosecuted more than three dozen cases, including both successful and failed attempts at evasion benefiting Russia, Iran, and China.

The session will take a close look at three cases to address critical questions: What happened? What went wrong? What actions might have prevented the wrongdoing? And most importantly: What lessons can companies and compliance professionals take away to better prevent, detect, and respond to evasion risks?
