June 20, 2011 (Mountain View, CA) – Fenwick & West LLP is pleased to announce that two of its partners have been named to Patent Buddy and Patent Research Review's "America's Top Patent Prosecutors" list.
John T. McNelis, Chair of the firm's Patent Group, and Brian M. Hoffman, partner in the firm's Intellectual Property Group, were ranked among the nation’s leading U.S. patent prosecutors.
The attorneys were nominated by their peers and selected based on their reputation for their high quality work product and counseling skills in patent application preparation and prosecution. It’s an honor bestowed to less than 2% of the approximately 30,000 registered patent attorneys.
"To be listed alongside the best and brightest patent attorneys in the nation is a tremendous honor," said McNelis. "And what makes this particularly gratifying is that the recognition comes from our peers in the legal industry," he added.
The recognition program was developed by Patent Buddy, the online community for patent attorneys and agents, and the Patent Research Review, a publication of Sunlight Research. For more information about the program and the selection process, click here.
Fenwick's Patent Group includes more than 45 registered patent agents, engineers and scientists, with more than half of the group holding Ph.D.'s. Notable clients the firm has represented in patent prosecution in the past year include Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Amazon.com, Google, Facebook, Harrah's Entertainment, Honda R&D Americas and Symantec.
