Mountain View, Calif. (September 8, 2014) – Fenwick & West announced today the launch of an interactive database detailing proceedings filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeals Board (PTAB). The database offers current and prospective clients a searchable tool enabling them to follow latest developments in the post-grant space and to examine key takeaways for recent PTAB decisions.
“The law behind these contested proceedings is evolving rapidly,” said Stuart Meyer, partner in the firm’s intellectual property practice, who spearheaded the project. “It is with this ever-changing landscape in mind that we created this interactive database, which we think will help clients draw insights into trends as they begin to emerge.”
Recent PTAB decisions are represented by dots on the graph; the dots are sorted chronologically by decision date and color coded by issue category. Users choose categories by checking the corresponding box and scroll over each dot to view details about that proceeding, including the decision date, case name and key takeaways.
The database can be found at http://www.fenwick.com/ptab-database and will be updated regularly with new cases.
Fenwick’s Post-Grant Proceedings practice is built with seasoned patent practitioners and litigators with deep experience in patent disputes at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, U.S. federal courts and the International Trade Commission. The practice covers all aspects of dealing with administrative patent disputes and also covers cross-over patent litigation strategy.
