Fenwick Named Human Rights Campaign Best Place to Work for Fourth Consecutive Year

Mountain View, CA (November 14, 2012)– Fenwick & West received a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation 2013 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). Released annually, the CEI survey ranks large United States businesses on their practices and policies regarding lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues. For the fourth year in a row, CEI recognized Fenwick as one of the best places to work for LGBT equality.

“We are honored to receive this important recognition,” said Michael Shuster, co-chair of Fenwick's Diversity & Inclusion Committee and partner in the Intellectual Property Group. “We strive to incorporate a safe and supportive environment for our LGBT attorneys and staff.”

Diversity has been a core component of the firm’s culture since its founding four decades ago. In 2001, Fenwick implemented a formal Diversity & Inclusion Committee to engage in initiatives like the Pride Law Fund, one of the oldest LGBT legal advocacy and education groups in the U.S., internal mentoring programs and retreats for minority attorneys.

The entire survey process and index is available on the Human Rights Campaign website.
