Mountain View, CA (November 23, 2015) – Fenwick & West is pleased to announce that the firm has been found to be one of the 10 most prolific U.S. law firms when it comes to patent prosecution. The list was compiled by Juristat, a Web platform that creates actionable analytics from public patent data.
Rather than measuring a firm's total output, which Juristat noted can be skewed by turnover, the company based its analysis on the average number of patents granted per prosecutor, including both attorneys and patent agents. According to the company, each of Fenwick's patent prosecutors is granted an average of 8.89 patents per year.
Juristat only considered firms on IP Today's 2015 top patent list that have at least 10 prosecutors. Its analysis covered patents granted during the last 10 years.
Fenwick has handled portfolio management for leading technology companies in the United States and abroad for more than three decades. The firm has more than 60 patent professionals – many with advanced technical degrees and actual business experience in disciplines such as chemistry, molecular biology, electrical engineering and computer science.
In 2015, Fenwick was recognized as the best patent prosecution group in Western North America by Managing Intellectual Property. In addition, the firm's patent-related services – as well as those for copyright, trademark and IP litigation matters – have earned Fenwick a place on The National Law Journal's IP Hot List three times. And Fenwick was recommended nationally for patent prosecution and transactions in IAM Patent 1000: The World's Leading Patent Practitioners.
