Fenwick Partners with Yahoo! to Host Pro Bono Clinic

Mountain View, CA (June 26, 2013) – On May 31, Fenwick & West partnered with Yahoo! Inc. and the Justice & Diversity Center of The San Francisco Bar Association to support a Clinic in a Box program, providing pro bono legal services to local nonprofit organizations.

Held at the Yahoo! headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA, Fenwick attorneys and Yahoo! in-house counsel worked together to help nonprofit organizations serving a wide range of basic needs – from child development and elder assistance to housing support.

Fenwick attorneys kicked off the day-long program with a training session on areas of law relevant to nonprofit organizations. Yahoo! in-house counsel conducted a legal audit of each organization using a questionnaire developed by creator of the Clinic in a Box programs Corporate Pro Bono and tailored to California state law by Fenwick attorneys. Yahoo! general counsel and secretary Ron Bell, who participated in the event, thanked Fenwick attorneys for their expertise and support.

Fenwick panelists included partners Lynda Twomey and Walt Raineri, and associates Allen Kato and Robin Reasoner. Associates Evan Johnson and Idan Netser helped prepare the materials used at the clinic.
