Fenwick Represents Four of the Eight Largest VC backed Exits in 2009

November 16, 2009 (Mountain View, CA) –Fenwick & West LLP, one of the nation's premier law firms providing comprehensive legal services to technology and life science clients, represented clients in four of the eight largest VC-backed M&A exits of 2009.

PEHub gathered information surrounding all the M&A deals that have closed or been offered in 2009 involving VC-backed companies and ranked them by up-front payment value to the investors. The Fenwick clients appearing on the list include (in ranking order):

  • Zappos.com was acquired by Amazon in July 2009 for approximately $928 million (first largest exit value)
  • Cisco Systems acquired Starent Networks in October 2009 for $779 million (second largest exit value)
  • Cisco Systems acquired Pure Digital Technologies in March 2009 for $590 million (fifth largest exit value)
  • Data Domain was acquired by EMC in 2009 for $406 million (eighth largest exit value)
