July 15, 2007 (Mountain View and San Francisco, CA) - Fenwick & West, a premier law firm providing comprehensive legal services to high technology and life sciences clients, was recently honored in the Minority Law Journal's Diversity Scorecard. The scorecard recognized Fenwick & West as one of the top five most diverse large law firms in the U.S. for 2006.
The Minority Law Journal used data collected from 240 of the largest U.S. law firms to calculate the percentages of ethnic minority attorneys at each firm. For the first time, this year's scorecard also included the percentages of minority attorneys who had been promoted to partner.
Fenwick & West earned its third-place ranking with 56 ethnic minority attorneys out of 250 attorneys (22.5%) belonging to an ethnic minority. Twenty-four percent of its new partners are minority attorneys.
