Fenwick’s patent practice has been recommended nationally in the 2018 issue of Globe BMG’s IAM Patent 1000, a guide to the world’s leading firms and individuals in private practice.
IAM Patent 1000 recognized the firm for patent transactions in California and nationally. Additionally, the guide recognized Fenwick for patent prosecution work in California and for its patent litigation practice in both California and Washington.
The guide honored 20 Fenwick lawyers as leading practitioners in California, Washington and New York in the patent transactions, patent prosecution and patent litigation categories and nationally for post-grant-proceedings.
Four Fenwick lawyers—Jake Handy, David Hayes, Stuart Meyer and Jae Won Song—were also recognized in the 2018 IAM Strategy 300, which lists the world’s top individuals who lead the way in the development and implementation of world-class IP programs.

In particular, the guide praised the firm’s patent prosecution and strategic counseling work. According to IAM Patent 1000, the firm “had a bumper year in terms of attracting instructions and interest from companies particularly on the East Coast and in the Southwest who feel that their local markets are lacking in the sort of strategic, business-focused counselling Fenwick & West is in pole position to provide, and has long given to Silicon Valley’s best.”
