Fenwick Bolsters Executive Compensation and Benefits Practice

Fenwick added partner Nancy Chen, further enhancing the firm’s recognized executive compensation and benefits practice.

Chen spoke with The Recorder and Law360 about her recent move to join Fenwick, whose executive compensation and benefits group is ranked among leading U.S. practices. The group also added partner Matt Cantor in New York last year.

With more than 25 years of experience counseling clients on tax and securities issues related to equity-based compensation, Chen told The Recorder that joining Fenwick allows her to return to her roots of practicing with a Silicon Valley-based law firm that focuses on technology and life sciences companies.

She noted, “I think it is one of the most exciting times to work with startup companies in the executive compensation area.”

Chen told Law360 that she enjoys her practice area because the ability to attract and retain talent is so critical to the success of these companies. “The competition for talent is fierce in Silicon Valley.”

Fenwick partner Shawn Lampron also talked to Law360 about the firm’s deepening executive compensation and benefits practice. “This practice is growing, and we really have a strong need for executive compensation attorneys that work with startups. I’ve always been impressed by Nancy’s hardworking nature and dedication to her clients,” she said.
