Fenwick & West partner Stuart Meyer is quoted in the Law360 article “Obama Praised For Pushing Patent Reform” on President Barack Obama’s discussion of patent reform in his State of the Union address.
Meyer tells Law360 that each of the proposals have value, but he can’t predict when the proposals will turn into legislative action.
“The interesting thing about intellectual property reform is that it goes in fits and starts,” he said. “The concern is in fixing one problem, only to cause two more down the road that are much bigger. It’s good for people to absorb a proposal, and have interest groups pop up and point out potential problems.”
