Eric has an extensive experience running complex, technical cases through trial in federal courts across the country. He focuses his practice on preparing and running high‑stakes patent and commercial disputes to verdict and has built a strong record of success in the nation’s most active jurisdictions—including federal courts in California, Texas, Delaware, and Virginia, as well as the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.

Over the past several years, Eric has served as counsel involved in numerous jury trials for leading technology companies, securing favorable verdicts on noninfringement, invalidity, and other tort and statutory claims. His team has tried and won cases in many of the major patent venues, with experience spanning more than a dozen matters taken to or prepared for trial. This consistent, hands‑on trial work has made Eric a go‑to litigator for cases expected to reach the courtroom.

Known for his ability to translate complex technologies into clear, persuasive narratives, Eric guides clients through every stage of litigation—from early strategy, fact discovery, and motion practice through trial and appeal. He has deep experience across a broad range of technologies, including cloud computing, e‑commerce, natural language processing, video encoding, mesh networking, and software and hardware design.

Before joining Fenwick, Eric served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Charles R. Breyer of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and as a law clerk in the Antitrust Division of the California Attorney General’s Office. During law school at UC Law SF, he was senior articles editor for the UC Law SF Journal, a member of the Moot Court Team, and received multiple awards for academic excellence and written advocacy.
