Jason advises clients on privacy and data security issues, focusing on health information privacy. Jason counsels clients in the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, consumer goods, and technology sectors on state, federal, and international privacy laws, including compliance with HIPAA, the 21st Century Cures Act, Washington My Health My Data Act, California Consumer Privacy Act, the EU’s GDPR, and others.

Jason has experience advising clients on all aspects of financial privacy. He helps clients launch new products and services involving AI and other emerging technologies. Jason also helps companies navigate their legal obligations in response to data breaches and other security incidents.

Jason is a frequent speaker on privacy and AI issues, and his work on these topics has been published in Law360, the Columbia Law School Blue Sky Blog, Pratt’s Privacy and Cybersecurity Law Report, and other outlets. He has presented on panels for the Practising Law Institute (PLI) and New York City Bar Association. Jason serves on the Bar Association’s Health Law Committee, and he was appointed to the Bar Association’s Subcommittee on AI in Healthcare (part of the Presidential Task Force on AI and Digital Technologies) in 2024.

Prior to joining Fenwick, Jason was an associate at an AmLaw 100 firm where he counseled clients on privacy and data security matters and also acted as in-house advisor to a U.S. biotechnology research corporation during a secondment to the company's privacy office. Before law school, Jason taught 11th grade English in New York City public schools as part of the Teach for America Corps.
