Lance Stern focuses his practice on commercial transactions involving intellectual property and has extensive experience in advising on all aspects of strategic commercial transactions. He structures, drafts, and negotiates complex commercial agreements involving technology devices, Internet and mobile application services, software licensing, game development and publishing agreements, and content licensing and distribution agreements.
Lance also counsels clients regularly regarding content consumption and management and establishing internal governance policies to help assess and mitigate infringement and other risks regarding content. He also manages the intellectual property and commercial aspects of corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, spin-outs and venture capital investments.
Lance attended law school at University of Virginia. Prior to law school, Lance worked as a product and design engineer in the semi-conductor industry where the focus of his work was the design and manufacture of chemical mechanical planarization tools.
