Phillip (Phil) Haack focuses his practice on patent and other intellectual property litigation matters for technology clients. He has experience with all aspects of litigation including summary judgment, trial and appeal. He has successfully represented clients in jurisdictions around the country including in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Central District of California, District of Delaware and Eastern District of Texas. He has also represented both petitioners and patent owners in front of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Phil has been repeatedly recognized as a Rising Star by Northern California Super Lawyers.
Prior to attending law school, Phil was a software engineer, developing end‐user desktop and web‐based systems at a number of Bay Area technology companies. Drawing on his extensive technical experience, Phil has represented companies in matters relating to a variety of technologies including ecommerce, web and internet technologies, database systems, distributed systems, encryption, messaging and financial systems.
During law school, Phil was the online content editor of the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly.
