A belief in the importance of pro bono has been a part of our firm’s culture since the beginning. It started with a few dedicated attorneys whose personal paths to help those less fortunate became a virtual roadmap for others in the firm to follow. As a result, more and more Fenwick attorneys—summer associates, associates and partners alike—have made pro bono work a part of their personal and professional journeys.
We’ve covered a lot of ground, and we have much to be proud of. In the past year alone, we were one of only 10 firms to make the 2013 National Law Journal Pro Bono Hot List. We received the 2014 National Legal Aid and Defender Association (NLADA) Beacon of Justice Award, as well as the 2014 Euromone y Award for Best National Firm for Pro Bono Work in North America. These awards recognize not only the thousands of pro bono hours that have been contributed but also the teamwork that supports our pro bono efforts firmwide.
