David Bell concentrates his practice on startup company advising, venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and intellectual property licensing, as well as counseling public companies in corporate, securities, governance and compliance matters.
David served as interim Chief Compliance Officer of InVision Technologies, Inc. during the course of its Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigation and initial integration into General Electric (GE).
Prior to law school, David was a systems manager for a mid-sized company based in Silicon Valley. In 1991, David was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army Reserve, where he has served as a signal officer, a communications security officer and a psychological operations officer.
David has been selected each year since 2011 as a Northern California Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters publication, in the area of Securities & Corporate Finance. David was also selected as Deal Maker of the Year 2013 and 2014 by Finance Monthly, and led the Fenwick team that received U.S.A. Deal of the Year (small-mid markets) and Online & Mobile Tech Deal of the Year by the M&A Atlas Awards in 2014.
