Children, Kids, Minors, Young Adults…What Are They Called and Why Their Privacy Matters!

The privacy rights of children and teens have been front of mind for parents for some time, and regulators and lawmakers are catching up. California recently passed a version of the UK’s Age Appropriate Design Code and other states have introduced similar bills; the FTC has stepped up COPPA enforcement (including most recently in the gaming space) and issued several policy statements around protecting kids’ privacy; and several children’s privacy bills were advanced in the most recent session of Congress.
