Fenwick’s Chief Information Officer Jim McKenna talked to Legaltech News for the podcast Legal Speak.
McKenna, who is also the president of the International Legal Technology Association, discussed tech trends in the legal industry for 2020, and focused on the shift to cloud computing and information security.
“The cloud is now, in my professional opinion, a viable option. We are seeing more and more entities migrate services to the cloud. We are seeing from the software development and the vendor community that much if not the vast majority of their development and cutting-edge solutions are cloud first, meaning if you subscribe to their software as a service or whatever their offering is in the cloud, you get access to the good stuff faster.”
McKenna also described the changing state of information security. “There’s never been a time where more people and more places are concerned about how their professional, personal and legacy data is managed.”
