After completing the one-year Mansfield Rule pilot, Fenwick has achieved Mansfield Certification from Diversity Lab. This certification recognizes “trailblazing law firms” for their commitment to supporting diverse lawyers pursuing leadership roles and promotions.
The Mansfield Rule Certification measures whether law firms have affirmatively considered at least 30 percent women and attorneys of color for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, and senior lateral positions. The goal of the Mansfield Rule is to boost the representation of diverse lawyers in law firm leadership by broadening the pool of candidates considered for these opportunities.
Fenwick was one of the first firms to participate in the Mansfield Rule pilot, and the firm will also participate in the 2.0 iteration of the Mansfield Rule, which will focuses on supporting LGBTQ+ lawyers as well as women and attorneys of color as part of the diverse candidate pool.
