For 12 years running, Fenwick & West has been recognized among the Best Places to Work in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times and the Silicon Valley Business Journal.
The publications honored Fenwick in the “large Bay Area companies” category (250-999 employees). Fenwick was the highest ranked law firm overall and one of only three law firms recognized.
The award recognizes 130 Bay Area companies that receive top marks from employees as exceptional workplaces.

The Times and the Journal highlighted Fenwick’s training and development programs, noting the firm’s professional development department, which focuses on defining and implementing specific training for lawyers and professionals. The publications also cited popular work-life balance benefits such as alternative work week arrangements, reduced hours and flexible schedules, telecommuting, supplementary childcare, fitness and wellness reimbursement, an onsite gym, maternity and paternity leave programs and a formal diversity program.
The Best Places to Work rankings were exclusively determined by each company’s employees. Bay Area employees were asked to complete an assessment that measures their company on values that included trust in leadership, collaborative culture, personal engagement and satisfaction of individual needs through great benefits and perks. Companies were honored at an awards celebration held on April 18 in San Francisco.
