Described as one of the region’s “go-to attorneys for technology companies undertaking complex business transactions,” Millard handles intellectual property aspects of corporate transactions and advises on a broad range of commercial agreements for clients in the technology and life sciences industries. He focuses particularly on the technology aspects of mergers and acquisitions, as well as a broad range of commercial and licensing arrangements. He also counsels clients with respect to privacy issues, especially those arising in the context of corporate acquisitions and international data transfers.
The San Francisco Business Times highlighted Millard’s work on more than 10 acquisitions for Cisco, most recently its $1.4 billion purchase of Jasper Technologies. He is also noted for leading the Fenwick IP team in representing Shanghai Giant Network Technology Co. and a buyer group in the consortium’s $4.4 billion acquisition of Caesars Interactive Entertainment gaming business Playtika—one of the largest mobile gaming acquisitions in history.
