Joanne Millard is the Director of Staff Talent Acquisition, Diversity and Inclusion​ at Fenwick & West where she is responsible for identifying top staff hires, on-boarding, training, fostering professional development and creating successful retention programs. Joanne has more than 10 years of experience developing relationships with hiring managers and leading the search process through its full life-cycle. She is adept at helping decision makers address both short and long-term needs, assessing cultural fit and aligning hiring with departmental strategies and goals.

Joanne is also responsible for Fenwick’s staff diversity and inclusion program which seeks to recruit a diverse group of employees and create a welcoming environment for all employees. She partners with firm leaders to develop business processes and measurements to meet the firm’s diversity goals.

Prior to joining Fenwick, Joanne worked in recruiting at DLA Piper where she specialized in placing temp-to-hire and full time employees in the legal field. She is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Northern California Human Resources Association (NCHRA) and Association of Legal Administrators (ALA). Joanne earned a B.S. in Sociology from Santa Clara University.
