Karen Webb is a Partner in the Trademark Group. She counsels established and startup companies on brand strategy and the protection of brand assets, including, brand creation, selection, protection, expansion, and enforcement. Karen has extensive experience in the social media and Internet space, both advising platforms in trademark matters and helping brand owners navigate social media.
Karen is active in the International Trademark Association (INTA) and is a member of the Emerging Issues Committee. Karen was previously on INTA’s Enforcement Committee and she has also been involved with the San Francisco Intellectual Property Law Association (SFIPLA) as the Trademark Co-Chair.
Karen is consistently ranked as a top trademark attorney. The World Trademark Review 1000 (WTR) recognizes Karen as a leading California lawyer for prosecution and strategy as well as enforcement and litigation. “Karen Webb continues to impress with her keen understanding of the intersection between soft IP and internet law,” WTR writes. Additionally, she was honored as Trademark Star by Managing Intellectual Property; named one of Silicon Valley’s top 40 leaders under age 40 by Silicon Valley Business Journal in 2017; shortlisted among the best trademark lawyers at Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Americas Women in Business Law Awards 2018; and recognized as one of the top experts in the trademark field by Who’s Who Legal. The Recorder also named her to its 2017 and 2018 list of Women Leaders in Tech Law.
During law school, Karen served as a comments editor on the Santa Clara Law Review. She also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Judge James Ware, United States District Court, Northern District of California in 2003.
