Sean Childers represents startup and private companies, as well as venture capital and early-stage investors in technology, healthcare and life sciences industries. For startup companies, Sean advises on all corporate matters, including formation/incorporation, structuring, financings, strategic transactions, joint ventures, day-to-day corporate and HR and equity incentive issues.
Sean’s investor side representations include clients such as GV (Google Ventures), Founders Fund, AbbVie Ventures, Merck Global Health Innovation Fund, and Creandum, with experience in non-traditional investment structures, such as joint ventures, consortium investments, spin-outs, accelerator programs and partnership/LLC-related investments.
Prior to joining Fenwick & West, Sean clerked for the Honorable Stephen F. Williams for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and worked as a junior associate in the corporate group at a global law firm in New York, where he worked on private equity, debt finance and M&A corporate matters. In law school, Sean was an articles editor for the New York University Law Review and received the Judge Rose L. & Herbert Rubin Prize for the most outstanding note for the Law Review in International, Commercial or Public Law.
