Fenwick Earns Top Spot Nationally in ALM Media’s Inaugural Composite Ranking Index

New Measurement of Law Firm Performance Highlights Fenwick’s Strong Financial Results and Continued Diversity Efforts

Fenwick was ranked No. 1 in ALM Media’s inaugural Composite Ranking Index (CRI), the information and intelligence company’s new method to measure law firm success across multiple key metrics, including financial and diversity performance.

The top ranking comes as Fenwick is in an exciting period of growth, with gross revenue up 45% over the past three years.

Fenwick also promoted its largest and most diverse partner class in the firm’s history, with more than half being women and several members of the class also being members of underrepresented groups.

The firm actively promotes an open and inclusive work environment and commits significant resources to improving its diversity efforts at every level, including its Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leadership Initiative; 1L Diversity Scholarships; and Mansfield Certification. Fenwick is ranked annually among the most diverse U.S. law firms by The American Lawyer and consistently receives a 100 percent score (A+ rating) on The Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index for its pro-LGBTQ policies and working environment.

ALM’s CRI is a weighted index based on both current-year and year-over-year rankings for various financial and diversity metrics drawn annually from The American Lawyer and National Law Journal surveys. The index draws from rankings for financial key performance indicators (KPI), such as revenue per lawyer and revenue-per-lawyer annual growth, and profit per lawyer and profit-per-lawyer annual growth, among other metrics. Diversity KPIs indexed include rankings of female attorneys as a percentage of all attorneys and diverse partners as a percentage of all partners, among other metrics.
