Andrew is a leading attorney representing clients in the blockchain and web3 verticals in intellectual property and commercial matters, and in this regard serves as a principal member of its industry-leading blockchain team. Andrew also co-leads Fenwick’s consumer technology/retail and entertainment/digital media teams. He represents a number of clients in other verticals as well, including gaming, fintech, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, and edtech.
In his legal practice, Andrew leads significant and complex strategic alliances, joint ventures, and other “partnering” arrangements, which are often driven by a combination of technological innovation, industry disruption, and rights to content, brands, or celebrity personas. He also structures and negotiates a wide range of commercial agreements, including licensing, NFT collaborations, technology sourcing, blockchain network, manufacturing and supply, channel partnership, and marketing agreements. Additionally, Andrew provides strategic counseling regarding best practices to develop, protect and monetize IP; navigate the “grey areas” of the law inevitably present in innovation and disruption; and manage technology, IP, and commercial issues in financing, M&A, and other corporate transactions.
Andrew serves clients across the country and around the world, but he is an enthusiastic member of the LA tech community, having practiced technology law in Santa Monica since the “dot com” era.
