Avery advises on privacy, intellectual property and commercial litigation, counseling and investigations for technology companies. She has experience in federal and state court and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Avery is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and advises clients on privacy and information security matters.
At Berkeley, Avery was co-editor-in-chief of the Berkeley Journal of International Law and received the American Jurisprudence Award in International Law. She also interned with the Office of the General Counsel at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
Before law school, Avery worked as a legal analyst at a law firm in Washington, D.C. and as an international development professional in Africa and Washington, D.C.
