Julia also brings deep experience advising on intellectual property matters in mergers, acquisitions, and other major corporate transactions. Her work spans everything from acquisitions for serial acquirers to company-transforming sell-side deals and divestitures, and she regularly advises startups and venture capital funds on IP considerations in financings. She works with clients across fintech, enterprise software, AI and machine learning, cybersecurity, blockchain, and games, including advising on bank-fintech partnerships, banking-as-a-service (BaaS) arrangements, and other strategic relationships in the payments space.
As an active member of Fenwick’s AI and machine learning (AI/ML) practice, Julia helps clients structure and negotiate commercial agreements for AI- and agentic AI-powered services, including customer experience and cybersecurity solutions. She also advises on AI/ML strategy and licensing issues related to AI/ML models and training data. Known for her thoughtful, collaborative approach, Julia focuses on delivering clear, practical guidance that balances legal risk with business opportunity and aligns with what matters most to her clients.
Julia was a key member of the Fenwick team that represented Wiz in its pending $32 billion sale to Google. She has also worked with Coinbase for several years on the TRUST project, an industry-led solution that created a platform that allows cryptocurrency exchanges to securely send information legally required by the Travel Rule.
