Marie Bafus’ practice focuses on representing companies, officers and directors in shareholder class actions, derivative litigation, regulatory and internal investigations, merger and acquisition litigation, and shareholder inspection demands under Delaware and California law. She has co-authored articles on a number of topics, including recent developments in litigation under the federal securities laws, fiduciary duty claims relating to executive compensation matters, and obligations under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
Marie received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, in 2008. During law school, she served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Martin J. Jenkins of the United States District Court, Northern District of California. Prior to law school, Marie studied music at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in 1997 and 1999 respectively.
