Dan Dorosin has over 20 years of experience in counseling emerging high-growth companies in all aspects of their business, both as outside counsel and as a corporate executive. At Fenwick & West, he focuses on the representation of startup companies and venture capital firms in their investments in portfolio companies. He has a particular expertise in guiding start-ups and investors through complex commercial negotiations and financing transactions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships and mergers and acquisitions. Dan has recently represented his venture capital financed company clients in acquisitions by Comcast, QUALCOMM, Google, Salesforce, Nielsen, Baidu and Yahoo and regularly represents his clients in their acquisition transactions.
From 1994 - 2000, Dan served in general counsel and corporate development roles at several venture financed companies. Dan began his career at the Palo Alto law firm of Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich, where he was elected partner in the corporate group in 1993.
Dan is a frequent lecturer on startup company formation and financing matters at the Stanford Engineering School and serves on the Stanford Technology Ventures Program Board of Advisors. Dan graduated from Stanford University in 1982 with a B.A. in Economics and received his J.D. from UCLA in 1986. He lives in Palo Alto with his wife Fern and their son and daughter.
