Danni Sun concentrates her practice on US and foreign patent prosecution for life sciences-focused clients. Her areas of technical expertise include cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, genetics, bioinformatics, and genome editing and stem cell technology.

Prior to joining Fenwick, Danni served as a research associate at Stanford University, where she compared gene expression in humans and chimpanzees through induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs) and bioinformatics methods. Danni also worked as a research scientist at Systems Biosciences Llc, where she performed product research and development in genome editing of pluripotent stem cells, in neural and cardiac differentiation of pluripotent stem cells, in derivation of integration-free induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs), in disease specific iPSCs and in in vitro transcription of mRNA.

While attending school, Danni worked as a research assistant characterizing molecular mechanisms in muscle cell development and related cancers and served as a teaching assistant. Danni completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the J.David Gladstone Institutes, University of California, San Francisco, where she studied mouse models and stem cell models of the neurodegenerative disease Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD).
