Jennifer Bretan focuses her practice on securities litigation, regulatory and internal investigations and enforcement proceedings, white collar defense and complex commercial litigation.
Jennifer's practice focuses on defending issuers, officers and directors in shareholder disputes, including securities class actions and derivative litigation. In addition, Jennifer has conducted internal and board investigations on accounting issues, insider trading and option granting practices and has represented companies and individuals in regulatory matters with both the SEC and the DOJ. In 2013, Fenwick’s Securities Litigation team was named “Securities Litigation Department of the Year” by The Recorder over 20 other California firms.
Prior to pursuing a career in law, Jennifer was a vice president of public relations and talent manager for Untitled Entertainment, a firm representing actors and directors in New York and Los Angeles. Jennifer began her career as part of CBS Television Network’s Standards & Practices Division and later worked as a film publicist for Clein + White, where she created press campaigns for independent and studio films and filmmakers.
